What a Difference a Month Makes!

This morning I was looking for a particular photo of Rob to send to someone and it struck me how much he's grown in a month.  Below are two pictures.  One was taken on February 1st and the other taken today.  The difference is amazing.  He's gained about 2 pounds and is just bigger and healthier.  I kind of want him to slow down a little.  Just so he can be my little baby just a little bit longer.  This week he started to grow out of his first batch of clothes.  I put an outfit on him this afternoon which was just a bit on the small side for him now.  It fit just fine last week.

11 Weeks Old!

Today Robbie is 11 weeks old.  I can't believe how the time has flown by.  He's been growing by leaps and bounds.  As of Friday he was 4.0 Kg.  This is almost double the weight he was when he was born.  Mind you he does love to eat.  I think he would eat all day long if we let him.  I get this vague feeling he might be catching up for lost time or something.

Every day he spends a little more time being active.  He really likes the little playmat at dangly toys as well as the wrist rattles we've got for him.

The cats seem to have adjusted to this invader into their home.  Tabitha pretty much ignores him and wants all of his toys.  Cranberry mostly ignores him and looks at him with sad eyes from time to time when she wants to cuddle with me.  She has a couple of times cuddled with both of us on my lap.  That's been pretty cute.

Plotting to take over the world

We took this photo a couple of days after our munchkin came home.  He looks like he's plotting to take over the world.  He's done very well so far at taking over our lives.  His next step I'm sure is the world.

The 2nd last surgery milestone

Today is a happy day.  It's now been 6 weeks since wee Robbie has had his surgery and the last restriction is now lifted.

So now we can pick him up under his arms if we like.  So from now on he should be a normal baby except for the fact that he was a preemie.

I must say, I'm very very glad.  Not only for the fact that he's healed, but also because now I don't have to warn anyone who is holding him how to pick him up.  It tended to scare people a little.

The last milestone will be his first cardiac checkup in April.

Long Time No Post

It's been a pretty busy week here in Robbie land.

He's been doing a lot of eating and growing.  He's just grown out of his first sleeper.  He's still a pretty skinny boy, but he's getting longer by the day.

Almost every day he seems to get a new little expression or seems change in some little way.

This week's adventures included going on a walk over to my office to meet my coworkers on Tuesday.  That was a fun outing and our longest yet (not including the Doctor's office).  On Thursday we were off to the bank to open up his first bank account.  Apparently need an appointment for that, so we will be doing that on Tuesday instead.

Friday afternoon my sister came over for a vist and we went for a walk along Queen Street.  It was such a fantastic day out that there was no way we couldn't go for a walk.

All of this is such an adventure.  The only thing I would change right now is the amount of sleep we get.  It would be lovely to get a straight 8 (or even 6 to 7) hours of sleep.  That and being able to eat a meal at the same time.

This photo was from a few days ago, but I really really like it.

Wow the formula samples just keep rolling in

It's interesting all the marketing we have been getting from many of the baby suppliers.  The formula companies in particular.  I keep getting rather large samples in the mail from the major formula makers.  We aren't actually using any, but we now have a stockpile in case we would ever need any.

I also find the literature funny.  It all says, "Breaksmilk is best" but if you choose..........  The foodbank or another infant centered organization is going to get a really good donation from us in the next couple of months or so.

Celebrating 1 Month

Tonight we celebrated Rob's one month anniversary of his surgery with an outing to the local pub with his grandparents & "Grand Aunt"and Uncle.

Much fun was had by all, even though we wouldn't let Robbie have any beer.  It was also his real first outing if you don't count his doctor's appointment earlier this week.

I can't believe that it's been a whole month since the surgery.
