Our Little Boy is Growing Up

Today was the day that our wee Munchkin was slated to move officially from the toddler room to the Pre-School room at his daycare.  He's hanging with the big kids now.

It's a happy and a sad thing.  It is absolutely fantastic that he's moving up with his peers and everyone feels he can keep up with the big kids.  The sad thing is that he's leaving his favorite teacher in the daycare.  I know she is just as sad too.  She has through her positive energy and encouragement done wonders in helping him with his development and learning all the skills he's been learning.  I know Munchkin is going to miss being in her class every day.

How has the time flown.  I can't believe that we are the parents of a pre-schooler already.  Next thing you know he'll be graduating from High School.

Munchkin is a Fork Stealer

This weekend our Munchkin again showed us how awesome he is.......  While at brunch on Sunday he grabbed my fork, stabbed the scrambled eggs on his plate with it and stuffed them into his mouth.  He's never had a fork in his hand at mealtime before, but on his first try managed to eat with it.  He's not so great with stabbing the food, but he's good at inserting it into his mouth.

Robbie and his Mom Ride Again!

Well it's that time of year again.  Ride for Heart is coming up soon and we're getting ready for it.  My team is in full swing with fundraising efforts at our office and we're aiming to make this ride the best yet.

Munchkin will be coming with me again this year in a bike trailer as our Team Mascot.  He's been our office's inspiration for the past several rides.

If you are thinking of making a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation this year, we would love it if you could do it though sponsoring us this year.  Research and education about heart disease is so important and I've already lost too many loved friends to heart disease and I don't want to lose any more.

So I entered him in a Contest

So I entered my Munchkin in a photo contest.  I thought it could be something fun and silly do to.  Now all I need are some votes for the little guy and maybe, just maybe we might win.  After all he is pretty photogenic at times.

Food is Yummy

Well our wee Munchkin seems to be expanding his food palette and appetite. I think he will soon be eating us out of house and home.
Tonight he demonstrated this new taste for food Ina funny way. Tonight I made tortellini with Alfredo sauce that had curry paste mixed in. I had made our Munchkin some without the curry in case it wasn't to his liking. About halfway though dinner I offered him a tortellini with the curry sauce on it and
he just gobbled it up. Then he proceeded to pitch the tortellini across the room if offered one that didn't have the curry paste.
What a funny bunny.

My Little Nutbar

I've realized it's been a little while since I've posted how our Munchkin is doing.  He's doing quite well and constantly surprises us with the little and big things he learns how to do.  He really is a source of awesome.

He's also a nutbar.  He has some funny little habits that I'm sure will cause him lots of embarrassment.  One of them is his sock eating habit.  Quite often when he's eating his dinner, he will do his very best to get his left shoe and sock off and proceed to shove the sock in his mouth and chew on it.  We're not sure what the appeal of the sock is, but he does seem to like it.

Our funny little nutbar,

Robbie is getting so accomplished

Please forgive the video intensive post, but it was a bit of a big day for our Munchkin.  He's making leaps and bounds towards independent walking and we thought we would share.  In other news he seems to have decided that broccoli is something pretty good to eat.

This was Robbie doing a little waking while visiting his Grandmother.

Then when at home this evening we decided to see if he would use one of the many walkers he tends to ignore:
